Alan's Studio Space

My husband, Alan, is a career artist and has claimed the upstairs as his new studio space!  We're so excited that he has what he needs in this house to be an artist.  What's that, you ask?  Light, and air conditioning! Our last house lacked proper, consistent lighting which makes painting difficult, and it was also hot, so he knew the first items on the studio to-do list were to install proper lighting and a/c units, which we did asap!  He now has professional fluorescent strip lighting in all 3 rooms, and we had mini split units installed in the 2 outer rooms since it was impossible to run duct work upstairs.  The mini units are super quiet, super efficient, and keep the entire upstairs cool.  Here you can see one of them tucked into the corner.  We couldn't be happier!!

Alan wanted a wall easel so he could hang paintings on one wall and move them around as needed, saving floor space.  So, we crafted one based on a design by artist Andrew Tischler.  He has a You Tube video on how to make one if you're interested!  We decided on just 2 strips on one wall.  Each painting will have a block attached to the back which will lock in to a strip on the wall, making it easy for Alan to move the paintings around as needed.
