When Alan and I found this house, we knew right away it was ours, even though we hadn't seen it in person. We'd had our Florida house on the market for about 6 months, had looked at thousands of houses online, and made offers on a few that, thankfully, God saved us from! We believe God's timing is always perfect, and He knew exactly what we needed. We made an offer immediately and prayed non-stop. We made lists of what the house needed so when we arrived we knew who to call to get the renovations started. In our first 6 weeks, we ordered a new metal roof, a/c units for upstairs, pest control services, electrical work/ new lights throughout the house and on the porch and the garage, new garage doors, spent weeks hauling away trailer loads of trash that had been left behind, and one of the most important things for us... getting a fence up! Today I want to highlight the fence, and Alan's upstairs art studio.
Our fence was custom built by Sylvestre Mendoza of Mendoza Barrier Fences and he did an amazing job! What we love most I think are the custom made gates. He crafted the gates by hand, welding the frames together and adding fence boards so the gates blend into the fence. We wanted a style that would fit in to our rural surroundings. We also needed an enclosure that would be sturdy and tall enough to contain our dogs yet open so we could still enjoy the view and not feel hemmed in. Our decision to fence the front yard halfway in from the road was so the dogs could be with us when we relaxed on the front porch in the evenings, but not too close to the road because sometimes people ride their horses past our house and we didn't want the dogs barking at them and spooking the horses. Our neighbors, Jeff and Ivy, have several gorgeous horses that graze at the pond adjacent to our yard and the view is like the most beautiful painting you could imagine! Our fence sits in a bit on that side of the yard as well so as not to disturb the horses.
That fence is perfect
